About this place
Bambi-dama is an okonomiyaki made with negi instead of cabbage. One diner who stopped in while exploring Tsukishima said its fluffy texture after cooking made a lasting impression. It’s an option to try if you’d like something different from the familiar cabbage-based style.
Monja comes in a wide range of combinations. Salt-butter monja includes fresh squid, corn, negi, noodles and butter. A diner who ordered it recalled that cooking it at the table was part of the fun. Others said they enjoyed trying mentaiko, mochi and cheese together for the first time, or savouring the crisp, browned bits from monja with mochi and cheese. Choosing the fillings can be a conversation starter in its own right.
For a generously filled option, try the Strongest Five-ingredient Monja, with mentaiko, mochi, cheese, Baby Star snack noodles and pork, or the Seafood Five-ingredient Monja, made with fresh squid, fresh prawns, scallops, octopus and clams. There are also less conventional combinations, including Italian Monja with tomato, cheese, minced beef and onion, and coconut milk curry monja.
Diners have also described enjoying drinks with teppan dishes: one account mentions squid with butter and another butter-fried king oyster mushrooms, while a lunchtime visit included meat and shimeji mushrooms before monja and yakisoba. Bambi 2 serves beer and other alcoholic drinks to accompany a meal.
Cooking at the table makes this a style of meal that groups can gather around. Visitors with children have said that reserving a particular seat and having instructions on how to cook monja available were helpful.
